On 4thMarch, the“All love in Beijing”Volunteer Service Exhibition and promotive activities were held atBeijing International Convention Center. This volunteerism advocating campaign was co-hosted by several organizations, includingPublicity Department of BeijingMunicipal Party Committee, the Capital Civic Enhancement Committee Office, Beijing Volunteer Service Federation, etc.
Since 2012, the Learning-from-Lei-Feng promotive activity has been successfully held for 7 years. It has become a representative activity to present the progress of volunteer service in Beijing and to call on citizens to learn the volunteerism spirits from Lei Feng,a solider famous for his selfless devotionto society.This year, the“All love in Beijing”Campaign hasaccommodatedover 200 volunteer service organizations, 500 community organizations and around 2000 participants and visitors.
Focusing on the topic“All love in Beijing”, the 2600-meter square interactive exhibition area hosted a large scale of promotive activities: the exhibition of volunteer service pictures, the advocating for volunteerism culture, the release of volunteer related projects, the commendation for“Beijing Top10 volunteerism organizations, volunteerism projects, volunteer communities”,“Beijing five-star volunteers”, and the release of“2018 Beijing Volunteer Service Guide”, etc. The themes of exhibitions including youth community engagement, contingency response, international volunteerism, the disabled aiding, and other related topics of volunteer service.
The international volunteer service exhibition area invited United Nations Volunteers (UNV) Programme, Sower International Volunteering Alliance and Common Future Volunteer Service Program to present their activities on international platforms. Citizens and visitors interacted with theseorganizationswith great interest. Mr. Guo Jiawenzhang, a United Nations National Volunteer, publicized the State of the World’s Volunteerism Report, which will be published in July 2018 in New York.
During the Campaign, the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Volunteer Service Alliance was successfully launched with a strategic agreement on volunteerism cooperation. The Alliance will integrate volunteer forces from these three regions to contribute toenvironmentalprotection and mega events volunteering support, for example the Winter Olympics. It is believed that through volunteer service, the social concerns and public interest could be better accommodated and the civilization level could be improved by learning from Lei Feng.
